Hi, I’m Kate, founder of Heirloom Estate Planning.
I earned my law degree from McGeorge School of Law in 2008 and began my legal career as a Deputy District Attorney before transitioning into family law. After years of courtroom work, I took a creative turn and built a successful photography business — capturing families, milestones, and the moments that matter most.
Then life changed.
I became a widow and a solo mother. I lived through the heartbreak and the logistical chaos that comes with loss — and I learned, firsthand, the importance of having clear, compassionate estate planning in place.
That’s why I’m here now.
I started Heirloom Estate Planning to help families prepare for life’s what-ifs with practical, modern legal tools like wills, trusts, and powers of attorney — delivered with transparency, warmth, and real-world understanding. I bring legal experience, life experience, and a deep commitment to making this process as empowering as it is protective.
This isn’t just law. This is legacy.
